All the classes I have taught since Green Hope opened in 1999.

Environmental Science classes have been monitoring the wetland behind Green Hope since 2000.

The Environmental Club has sponsored an annual Earth Day Festival since 2001. The event features edutaining booths, local environmental organizations, and a live band.

Since 2002, I have taken a group of seniors each year to UNC Wilmington for a day or two of marine ecology in the field. Highlights include trips to salt marsh and beach ecosystems along with visits to the Fort Fisher aquarium and the UNCW Center for Marine Science.

Other events I sponsor are the Envirothon, the Ocean Sciences Bowl, and many, many weekend community service outings with AP Environmental Science and Environmental Club. The most popular of these outings is the Carolina Tiger Rescue in Pittsboro.
